THE PERSES EVENT

A COMMUNICATIONS BREAKDOWN

Imagine that your power is out, your phone systems are down, your internet is not working and the repeaters are not operating.
What would you do?

Let’s try an emergency communications exercise.  Join us on Saturday, March 18th at 10:00 am to experiment with The Perses Event – A Communications Breakdown.

Work from your home location. Use emergency power. This could be the battery on your handheld radio.  You will want an external antenna up in the air as high as possible.  You remember – height is might.

You can work mobile, portable, or fixed station.  Just use emergency power.  It’s probably a good time to charge the battery or fire up the generator anyway.

Program four (4) frequencies into your radio.

  1.    Central Control  – The Primary Frequency is 146.745 FM simplex (no tone / no offset). It’s good to be frequency agile.
  2.    West Satellite Control is 146.580 FM Simplex
  3.    North Satellite Control is 146.490 FM Simplex
  4.    South Satellite Control is 146.550 FM Simplex

We will meet on The Primary Frequency is 146.745 FM simplex at 10:00 am.
Be ready to copy the Satellite Stations and get more instructions.

We will be following up with details and documents to help you participate in the exercise.
