You’re Invited!
Join us for the upcoming ARRL Field Day Event hosted by the Charlotte Amateur Radio Society on June 24-25. This annual event sees over 35,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to showcase ham radio’s science, skill, and service to our communities and nation. Field Day combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in one event, making it the most popular event in ham radio since 1933.
When and Where?
This 24-hour event will start with setup at the beautiful Peace River Shores Community Center at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. Lunch is served at noon and the first contact is made at 2:00 pm. We will operate for 24 hours until we take down the equipment at 2:00 pm on Sunday.
What is Field Day?
ARRL Field Day is the world’s largest on-the-air event where amateur radio operators across North America set up temporary stations in public locations to showcase their skills, exchange information, and connect with other stations. The event presents an opportunity for the public to learn about amateur radio and for amateur radio operators to improve their emergency communication capabilities.
Who Are We?
The Charlotte Amateur Radio Society (CARS) is a non-profit organization that promotes amateur radio and provides opportunities for its members to improve their technical skills while serving the public. As an active member of the Charlotte County community for over 50 years, CARS is committed to contributing to the community.
